BioComplete™ Compost Production
Learn to produce biologically complete compost, the kind that restores soil life, suppresses disease, and transforms what's possible on your land.
- Redirect organic waste products into a biologically rich amendment that restores your land
- Grow the right microbes to support soil and plant health while minimizing the risk of human pathogens and weed seeds
- Replace expensive and harmful chemical inputs with biology and organic matter
Master the art of making BioComplete™ compost using the techniques you have studied in the Foundation Courses.
Not all compost is created equal. Biologically complete compost, teeming with the right balance of bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes, is one of the most powerful tools available to any farmer, grower, or land steward. But making it requires more than a pile and patience. It requires understanding the biology, managing the process, and knowing how to assess what you've made.
In this course, we connect theory with real world experience and skill-building, all while teaching you how to find what works for you.
Recipe
A key benefit of learning to create your own compost is reducing dependence on unreliable and often expensive external sources for your land's fertility and productivity.
Gain the ability to customize compost recipes to suit what you have available.
Build
Build expertise in the biological principles behind BioComplete™ compost and why they matter.
Demonstrate that you know how to build, manage, and monitor a compost system for biological completeness.
Learn and demonstrate how to match compost type and application rate to specific land goals.
Troubleshoot
Biological solutions require paying attention and learning to pivot.
In this course, you learn critical thinking and gain the experience needed to decide what to do when something doesn't go to plan, why it occurred, and how to fix it without resorting to chemicals.
Nick Padwick
From Farm Management to Regenerative Leadership: How Nick Padwick Is Transforming Agriculture Through Soil Health and Biodiversity
Throughout my career in farming, I’ve always believed that the future of agriculture depends on how well we care for the land. Learning about soil biology and regenerative practices completely changed the way I approach farming, showing me that healthy soil is the foundation of productive, resilient landscapes.
By focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and responsible land management, we can create farming systems that work with nature rather than against it. My goal has always been to demonstrate that profitable agriculture and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
Course Prerequisites
Before enrolling in the BioComplete™ Compost Program, participants should have a strong foundation in Soil Food Web foundational knowledge and be ready to develop work with an expert mentor to develop and test their own recipes.

You'll work through structured mentoring sessions alongside a comprehensive, updated course manual designed to guide you step by step — from first principles to finished product. Improved videos, clearer expectations at every stage, and strengthened onboarding mean you'll spend less time confused and more time composing.
New to this version: you no longer need to complete Soil Microscopy before enrolling. If your goal is to build and apply great compost — without using a microscope — you can jump straight in.
✔ Mentor-guided learning with clear session structure
✔ Updated videos and course materials
✔ Comprehensive course manual with real-world examples
✔ Accessible directly from the Foundation Courses — no microscopy prerequisite
✔ Access to the full mentorship team through scheduled office hours
✔ Unlimited mentoring support — no hours tracked or capped
The amount of time required depends on your other commitments. Some students have completed all 4 Advanced courses (the Completer Practicum) in 1 year, but most take longer, with the average being about two years.
Farmers and growers who want to build soil biology from the ground up. Consultants who want to confidently recommend and oversee compost production systems. Anyone who's made compost before, and suspects they could be doing it better.
We provide a 30-day no-questions-asked money-back guarantee.
Every AP Course provides the opportunity to receive a certificate of completion.
Currently, mentors are assigned based on their availability and paired to students in relation to their time zones and language preferences. All of our mentors are highly qualified.
You will need several pieces of equipment and access to compost feedstock to complete this course. The precise budget will depend on the size of your pile and your access to feedstock and equipment/materials. Your mentor can advise you on this.
We would love for you to invite your partner and anyone else who is interested in restoring our world's soils. They will, however, need to enroll as students separately. Currently, our system is designed for 1:1 interactions. You must be an enrolled CTP student to take part in any meeting.
While you will retain access to the course materials and the community that comes with this course, you have a finite amount of time to access your mentor. That time frame is 16 months from the date of purchase.
This time frame is established because our mentors set aside time for each student who enrolls and is assigned to them, and cannot indefinitely make their schedules available to students in the course.
